In their work using Mexican mythological elements creating a very particular vision Asuna. His works reflect the domain besides possessing the drawing, which is seen also in the sacred objects he paints. The religious theme is predominant in his work occupies a special place symbolism, highlighting the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Ruiz belongs to a generation of Mexican artists after the rupture between those who were his former companions of the Academy of San Carlos, Rafael Calzada, Julio Chico, Ernesto Guzman, Rodrigo Pimentel, among others. Although the formation in sta bent at academics, this group of students did not remain indifferent to the aesthetics of the Breaking free: Tenan to svariadas forms of expression. It begins in the abstraction, stream leaving to the seventies, then working in the figurative, to find his own style: the New Mexicans, followed by other artists such as Julio gallon, Roco or Dulce Mara Maldonado Nez. The landscape was the central theme of his work, combining the human figure with religious motifs, like that comes from the teachings of his teacher Manuel Herrera Cartalla.
